Looking to keep your shopping local at the start of this holiday season? Why not start down in the heart of Oak Harbor on Saturday to support your local small businesses.  These are just a few of the options offering up something extra special on Saturday, but all the businesses owners are happy to meet new customers and provide you with some unique and special to give this holiday season.

Click Music - on NE 7th Ave - offering discounts, a give-a-way, and potentially a "fill a bag" promotion.

Frida's A Beautiful Mess - on Pioneer - offering 20% off and other surprises. Also offering classes for card making on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays - so you could sign up to make something special for your holiday cards.

Red's Boutique - on Pioneer - may have gifts to give out.

Thavin Marcob - on Pioneer - always have their sales rack, but are bringing in new items as well for the season.

Weathered Wares - on Pioneer - clearance clothing offered at 50% off, will have 10% off on furniture on Black Friday which they may extend to Saturday. Hours will be extended to 8A-8P.

Purple Moon - on Pioneer - offering a surprise discount or give-a-way, have to stop in to see.

Dina's Great Finds - on Pioneer in Harbor Village - planning to extend hours some, and offering a unique assortment of vintage & antique one of a kind items.

Whimsies Treasures - on Pioneer in Harbor Village - always offers a customer appreciation gift, but will also offer either a give-a-way or treasure hunt for a special discount.

I'm sure there's more, and after discussing the importance of sending customers to shop local, some of the business owners I spoke with seemed motivated to put something together for this weekend, but they hadn't given it much thought previously.
